By Faith

Part of today’s Bible Reading comes from Hebrews 11. This chapter is sometimes referred to the “Great Hall of Faith.” The men and women mentioned in this chapter acted on faith. They obeyed God by faith. They made a difference by faith.

Not all of us are called to do things on the scale of Abraham, Moses, Sampson, or any of the great men and women mentioned in the Bible. However, we are ALL called to live by FAITH.

Are we living by faith? Sure, we have enough faith to read the Bible, pray, and go to church. Do we have faith beyond that? Do we have faith like those mentioned in Hebrews 11. Many of them were tasked to do things that were beyond human reason or ability. They simply had to trust God.

Someone once said that FAITH stands for: Forsaking All I Trust HIM. To be able to truly trust someone, we must know them. To know someone, we must spend time with them. Very simply, the more time we spend with God, the better we know HIM, and the better we know HIM, the better we Trust HIM.

If you have been going through the Bible Reading Plan we are doing at Adamsville First Baptist Church, then you have completed 30 days in the scripture today. I hope that you know Him better. I pray that your faith has increased. We must spend time in the Word of God because it is the source of our faith!

Romans 10:17(NKJV)
17 So then faith comesby hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It is my prayer that our faith will be like those in Hebrews 11. We need to be a church that is worthy of mention in Hebrews 11. We need to walk by faith, talk by faith, live by faith, and love by faith. Let us Trust HIM!
